2021 growth goals

It’s a new year and if you're new to reading my blog then you probably don’t know that new year’s growth goals are my thing. In 2018 I wanted to be a better reader, so I set a goal to read 52 books that year. accomplished✅. In 2019 I wanted to make 40 youtube videos, I made 24. That was such a big step compared to making 14 videos over the two years previous to 2019. Last year in 2020 I didn’t have exact goals set in stone and once quarantine hit I started learning French and did that off and on again all year long. Nothing really stuck but it was 2020 and I grew in a lot in mental ways. So now here we are the start of 2021 and I’m here to set my intentions for the year.

I thought it would be cool if I had a post documenting what I wanted to accomplish and then at the end of the year showing what I did, didn’t do, or did that I didn’t know I wanted to accomplish!

So here are some new habits I want to implement into my daily routine:

  • Waking up earlier before online school and doing something creative. I find online school miserable in a lot of aspects and notice that it’s harder for me to focus. The days that I tend to do something creative or active before school is the days where I’m in an overall better mood. The idea is to be working on different parts of my brain earlier in the day, some activities can include editing, photoshop, cooking, working out, writing, reading, concepting new ideas, etc. the idea is to get my mind working on something I like doing!

  • Editing 1 hour a day. For the month of December 2020, I edited almost every day for more than an hour. When something becomes a routine it also becomes easier to do. I don’t expect myself to edit every day. Editing is my current favorite outlet, I’m grateful I have it. It makes me feel productive while doing something that isn’t school.

  • Staying on the workout lifestyle grind. Since October of 2020, my mom and I have been on the gym grind. My mom got a trainer (I know she’s fancy) and I go with her 3 times a week and am slowly building more muscle. I also have been running 2-3 days at the gym on days we don’t weight train. I’m worried when we go back to Seattle I won’t continue to work certain muscles and don’t want to lose momentum. The idea of this goal is no matter where I am at I will find new ways to stay on that gym, lifestyle grind.

Now I have a few other mini-goals that I’m not quite sure how far and consistent I will be with them. But I still want to document because I’d generally be interested to see how much of these I accomplish. Have you written down any goals this year? Need a cheerleader? DM on Insta (link at the top of the page), I would love to know them.
