Checking Boxes

Hi, I have been way too busy but when I don’t want you to think it’s the best way to be. Here what I’ve been filling my time with:

  • Cross country- in mid-February me and my family came back from Nevada (where my parents and I have been for the last few months). We were only planning on being back in Seattle for a month tops until I sighed up for the cross country. I mainly sighed up for cross county because it counts as a P.E. credit. I have been on a workout grind since November and wanted to keep it up so running 6 days a week sounded like a solid plan. I figured with cross country I could go 6 days a week for most of the season and then leave a week or two earlier to go back to Nevada but with COVID-19 and the season being so much shorter.. you could only miss 5 un-excused days in total. So my parents gave up one for the team and we have mainly been back in Seattle for me to complete the season. Cross country has defiadntly been helping me work on my time management, I spend more time at and going to cross country practices and meets than I am doing online school. My body is also not used to running 2-4 miles every day while wearing a mask. I do like that everybody wears a mask the whole time and is extremely distanced when drinking water. I also have been able to re-connect with friends that I’ve been running with every day which is defiantly my favorite part besides my metabolism changing. Something about seeing your people every day is refreshing.

  • Taking design class/ making logos - A while back one of my teachers suggested I signed up for an 8-week online design class that happens every Wednesday for an hour. The premise of the course was about understanding the super basics of design and the you would leave the class having made a logo

  • Catching up with my people. since I have been back in Seattle and don’t know when I am going to be coming back (probably in the summer but idk exact dates) I have been hanging out with my friends when we all make time. I have multiple different friend groups and people within those friends groups that I also really like to hang out with one on one during the pandemic. I have to space out when I see friends to keep myself and everyone safe. A lot of my friends are also doing sports, it’s nice being able to run into them all the time or plan times to hang out with going to practice not seeming like a buzz kill since they have to go to practice as well.

  • Mini room makeover. My messy. I’m clumsy. Here’s the thing sometimes for your thought and mindset to be clearer and more concentrated on the top priority you gotta give were you spend your time that same aura. With that said I decluttered my room by giving away some junk that I look at everyday. Old books that don’t resinate with me anymore, putting up a photo wall I’ve been wanting to do for ages, seeing what’s actually under my bed. My mom loves when everything has a home and with this mine makeover almost everything has it’s own home, which is an accomplishment for me. I say mini makeover because I’m not actually getting anything that new. Its more minimizing what I’ve got. Although, I do want to invest in a new pencil holder, a jewelry holder? A splurge would be an aesthetic flower vase.

Thank you so much for tuning in! Doing these after-school activities actually have checked some boxes for school. Cross County will count as a PE credit, and since I did gym and basketball last year I will fulfil all my PE credits I need to graduate. Hallelujah! The design class also counted towards my service hours, which I have completed all those hours that I need for graduation. Checking boxes for high school graduation feels so good!
