Lisa says Gah Cow print jeans

My latest brand obsession has been Lisa says Gah. After finding them on Instagram via That curly top aka Jazmine Rogers who’s YouTube channel and personal brand is about being more sustainable in her day-to-day life and in fashion. Fast fashion is ever-growing and I have been on the search for company’s that provided better quality, longer-lasting items that fit my style and that I will be able to rock for years to come. The cost of this is my clothes are much more expensive. Here’s why I’m ok with it:

  1. I’m able to resell and get some money back when I am done wearing the item

  2. When I buy something I know that I will be wearing it at least 50+ times thus make sure I am in love with the product is key (and then I am obsessed with everything in my closet vs feeling like I have nothing to wear)

I am very much the person who will find every which way to style a dress and make it look different every time. Simple tricks like putting a sweater over the dress and tights can make the dress look like a skirt and be wearable not just in summer but all year long. Accessories can also do a lot baby.

But today I am here to talk about these cow pants. As trends come and go when cow print arrived I really like the trend. But the problem is, you can only pick so many trends you want to take part in. Otherwise your style is just a trend follower, and you just end up spending money trying to follow what someone else thinks you should buy this season. When I saw that cow pants were the new thing I did a quick google search and the first place I ended up was Shien. As I’m scrolling through all the cow print options ( which was a lot) I thought about how the fashion industry generates 92 million tons of textiles waste per year and how buying one of these pants would add to that. Now buying anything adds to that, and it is a luxury to be able to choose not to want to buy from Shien or any other fast fashion brands. I know that I am fortunate beyond my own scope. But as someone who can make a choice to buy more sustainable long-lasting fashion. I want to start making those choices.

Now I’m not saying I have never spend money at stores who clearly sell fast fashion. I’m not saying I will never. But when I do buy a piece of clothing I’m going to wear it till Its simply not wearable or find an alternative home that will hopeful wear it till it tars.
