Not Quitting
Ever since I had to stop playing roller derby and had spine fusion surgery I’ve wanted to get back into sports. My middle school had no sports teams so I didn’t know how to go about being on a sports team. Once high school started this September I knew this year I was going to do a sport of some sort. I tried out for the dance team and did not get on, earlier this week I tried out for the basketball team and even though I don’t know how to play basketball somehow got on. I was really excited until yesterday when I found out practices where 6 days a week. Practices during the week start at 6 pm so I am obligated to spend 12 hours at school most of the school week. I am overwhelmed, not just with the commitment and not having time to do all my creative hobbles but also I don’t know what I’m doing in basketball, at all. To be fully honest basketball is not even fun for me, mostly because I just don’t know what I’m doing but I'm just confused. I want to quit but we are only one week into practice, I don’t want to be that loser that quits so basically that the only reason I am not quitting. So the next couple of months my life will be consumed with basketball.
